About MeetOview
MeetOview is a networking site for meeting planners; a place to share your thoughts, views and experiences of meetings via video clips and discussion forums in a bid to create and enthuse involving and innovative meeting concepts.
Your views and examples can encompass any element of a meeting for discussion, from inspiring speaker and quality of content, to interaction of delegates and flexibility of venue - and these examples can show any degree of meeting quality, whether exceedingly awful, or simply brilliant, or indeed, anywhere on the scale between!
The idea behind MeetOview is to further provoke thoughts and actions based on the Meetovation concept; a new way of thinking in the meetings industry.
The key message is: NO more boring meetings!
Meetovation embodies five key elements;
- Participation
- Flexibility
- Responsibility
- Evaluation
- Relocation
The Meetovation concepts engage participants actively and have a new creative approach to a far more flexible use of conference facilities.
The shapes of the meetings are different than traditional meetings and breaking with one-way communication is a liberating experience for delegates and organisers alike.
The Meetovation project has been created by VisitDenmark, the Official Tourism Organisation of Denmark, in co-operation with experts from the regional meeting and congress agencies, professional facilitators, manager advisors and meeting organisers as well as a wide selection of Danish conference centres, hotels and culture institutions. The project is co-financed with support from the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs.
The need for the development of new meeting concepts is based on future challenges and demands of the meeting industry.
The concepts will help planners to transform the traditional one-way communication standards into a creative forum, in which the participants are actively involved in obtaining the tools, and knowledge they need to strengthen their companies' or associations' overall objectives and strategies. New generations - the meeting participants today and in the future - are used to working in teams and knowledge sharing. They neither can, nor will sit for hours and listen to the introductory speakers' endless one-way communication.
All of these conditions affect the meeting culture, not only in Denmark, but to a great extent also internationally. This underlines the need for the development of the Danish meeting product, if we are to keep up with the increased competition.
VisitDenmark's vision with Meetovation is to stimulate innovation and growth in the meeting industry. The goals of the project are to increase the level of competence and service as well as develop new concepts. This will give substance to the 'brand' that will place Denmark on the global map as one of the most innovative and effective meeting destinations in the world.
